A former senior executive of world football’s governing bodyhas pleaded guilty to four charges of corruption. The formervice president of FIFA Alfredo Harwit told the judge in theUnited States that he had accepted hundreds of thousands ofdollars in bribes. The payments were linked to marketing inbroadcast rights for tournaments and matches. He faces aprison sentence of up to 20 years for each count.
