课题组简介:王一凡博士,将于2021年1月担任新加坡南洋理工大学机械与宇航工程学院南洋助理教授职位(Nanyang Assistant Professor, 为该校授予杰出青年教授的研究基金)。王博士于2017-2020年在加州理工学院机械与土木工程系从事博士后研究,2011-2016年在芝加哥大学物理系获得物理学博士学位,2007-2011年于北京大学物理系获得物理学士学位。王教授从事的研究方向主要为软物质材料,力学超材料,微纳米力学与机器人材料。 王教授已在领域内顶级期刊发表多篇重要文章,其中包括Physical Review Letters, Nature Materials, Nano Letters, ACS Nano, Advanced Materials, Extreme Mechanics Letters等。

Multiple Positions on Soft Robotic Materials and Mechanical Metamaterials at NTU Singapore
Dr. Yifan Wang is looking for several PhD students and Postdocs on “Soft Robotic Materials and Mechanical Metamaterials”. Candidates with strong background and enthusiasm in experimental soft matter, mechanics, nanoscale materials and robotics are welcome to apply. The goal of this research project is to design and manufacture new classes of structured materials with unprecedented capabilities of sensing, responding to and communicating with their surrounding environment, by incorporating soft matter building blocks such as granular particles, colloids and nanoparticles. The applications of this project extend from smart textiles for exoskeleton and haptic perception, microscale shape-changing robots, to active phononic metamaterials.
Dr. Yifan Wang will start as a Nanyang Assistant Professor (an elite professorship awarded by NTU) in the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Nanyang Technological University from January 2021. Dr. Wang did his postdoctoral study in Department of Mechanical and Civil Engineering at California Institute of Technology. He obtained his PhD degree in soft matter physics from The University of Chicago in 2016, and a bachelor’s degree in physics from Peking University in 2011. He has authored many publications in prestigious journals, including Physical Review Letters, Nano Letters, ACS Nano, Nature Materials, Advanced Materials, Extreme Mechanics Letters, etc.
