Postdoc opening
There is an immediate opening for postdoc position in Organic Optoelectronics Group at University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Tennessee. The initial period of this postdoc position is for one year with possible extension of additional two years. This postdoc position focuses on the fundamental studies of dynamic behaviors of excited states at different length and time scales in organic-inorganic perovskites used in light-emitting, photovoltaic and lasing actions. The research involves (i) the preparation of 3D and 2D perovskites, (ii) the fabrication of perovskite optoelectronic devices, and (iii) the experimental measurements of polarization-dependent photoluminescence, Raman, pump-probe transient absorption, impedance, and magnetic field effects. This postdoc position requires Ph.D degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or related fields. It prefers the candidate with strong experience on materials processing, device fabrication, and basic experimental measurements including photoluminescence, impedance, transient absorption, and Raman spectroscopy. The salary range is $40K to $45K, negotiable based on academic credential. Interested candidates should contact Professor Bin Hu (bhu@utk.edu) to provide CV, publication list, and three names of references.
Ph.D student opening
There are two openings for Ph.D students targeted at 2020 Spring and 2020 Fall Semesters in Department of Materials Science and Engineering at University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Tennessee. This Ph.D students will perform his/her research in Organic Optoelectronics Group located at Joint Institute of Advanced Materials. The research will be the fundamental studies of dynamic behaviors of excited states in perovskite optoelectronic devices. The Ph.D students are required to prepare 3D and 2D hybrid perovskites, fabricate perovskite optoelectronic devices, and carry out multi-disciplinary experimental measurements including time-dependent photoluminescence, Raman, pump-probe transient absorption, impedance spectroscopy, and magnetic field effects. The candidates with background in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, and Electrical Engineering are welcome. Interested candidates should contact Professor Bin Hu (bhu@utk.edu) to proceed the applications.
