香港城市大学吸附分离实验室博士研究生招收计划(2020年秋季入学)

入学要求:
•        化学工程,材料科学与工程,化学或其他相关专业的本科或硕士毕业生。申请人必须有合成和测试多孔材料(包括MOFs,zeolites,或mesoporous materials)的经验。优先考虑有利用多孔材料实现气体吸附,分离和储存经验的申请人。
•        平均成绩不低于 85/100(或 82.5/100 对于顶尖大学的毕业生),90/100以上优先考虑; 专业排名前5%。对于有较好发表文章纪录的申请者,GPA要求可以适当降低。中国大陆的学生请注意:在计算平均分时政治和体育学科成绩不计入。
•        考虑到竞争异常激烈的奖学金申请,对于大陆毕业生,仅持有本科学位的申请人,要求本科毕业院校必须是985学校;对于持有硕士学位的申请人,要求本科毕业院校必须是211或985学校,同时硕士毕业院校是985学校。
•        语言成绩要求:托福成绩不低于 550 分(纸考)或 79 分(网考);或雅思(学术类)平均分不低于 6.5 分。

PhD Student Positions in Adsorption and Separation Lab at the City University of Hong Kong

PhD student positions are available in Adsorption and Separation Lab in the School of Energy and Environment at the City University of Hong Kong. The candidates are expected to work on research topics such as developing advanced porous adsorbents for CO2 capture, nature gas/biogas purification, and air pollution treatment (hazardous gases removal). Requirements:
•        The candidate should hold a Bachelor or MPhil degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry or other related engineering and science fields. Experimental synthesis and characterization of porous adsorbents materials such as zeolites, MOFs, and mesoporous materials are essential expertise for this post. Applicants with experience in gas adsorption and/or storage are strongly encouraged to apply and will be given priority. Strong oral and written communication skills in English and the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team are essential.
•        An overall GPA not less than 85/100 (or 82.5/100 for top universities) and within top 5% at the school. A lower GPA standard could apply to those with good publications. Special notes for students from mainland China: please exclude scores of political and physical educations.
•        Given the extremely competitive scholarship application, generally for Mainland applicants with a bachelor degree only, the bachelor degree must be granted by a 985 university; for those with a master degree, the bachelor degree must be granted by a 211 or 985 university and the master degree by a 985 university.
•        Fulfill the language requirement: a minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based) or 79 (internet-based) is required; or an overall band score of 6.5 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
Additional information:
•        Candidates holding either a Bachelor degree or master degree are expected to complete the PhD in 4 years.
•        Potential candidates can start to submit applications from September 2019 and the deadline is December 1st, 2019.
•        Successful applicants can work as Research Assistant as early as March 2020.
•        Stipend: HK$13,500/month (Postgraduate Studentship) or HK$309,600/year (Hong Kong PhD Fellowship).
•        PhD candidates can also apply for various scholarship schemes for conference, field study, etc.
•        PhD candidates will have opportunities to visit the Australian Synchrotron, the University of Melbourne, the University of Western Australia, and Georgia Institute of Technology to conduct joint projects.
