Ph.D. position: Public Interest Technologies (PIT) and Communication
The Leiden University Centre for Linguistics (LUCL) is looking for doctoral researchers in the area of communication science interested in artificial intelligence (AI) and public interest technologies (PIT).
We are seeking a doctoral researcher to work with Dr. Tomás Dodds. The main focus of the research undertaken by the doctoral candidate will be on the responsible use of artificial intelligence in journalism. Students will examine how new AI-based technologies –such as recommender systems or automated insights– impact the professionalization of journalistic values and professional identities and how this phenomenon affects reporters' perceptions of automated decision-making.
