The Liang lab at Michigan State University seeks a talented and highly motivated individual to join our team as a PhD student.
Our lab is interested in understanding the molecular basis of autoimmune diseases, with the ultimate goal of finding cures for these debilitating diseases. To achieve this goal, we use a combination of technologies including cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, -omics, animal models and bioengineering approaches, and we work in close collaboration with physician-scientists for translational studies. More details of our work can be found on our website
Successful candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, biomedical sciences, or related field. A strong interest in autoimmune disease research is required and experience in cell biology, molecular biology or immunology is desired. Our lab is funded by several National Institutes of Health (NIH) awards, and this position will be fully supported by our funding.
Promoting professional growth is one core value in the Liang Lab. There will be opportunities to develop a career development plan with the principal investigator, to participate in professional development activities, and to build skills that will support career growth.
