PhD Openings in the Polymer Nano Film Lab of Prof. Ophelia Tsui in HKUST (香港科技大学)
We are currently seeking two PhD students to start between January and September in 2023. The projects aim to fabricate, understand and manipulate the physical properties of polymer nano films.
The current stipend for PhD students (2020-21) is HK$18,030 per month.
Outstanding candidates may apply for the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS), which offers a monthly stipend of HK$27,100 for four years, a RedBird PhD Scholarship of HK$40,000 in the first year of study and conference travel allowance of HK$13,600 per year for 4 years.
By the start date of the position, the students should have completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or physics with a GPA of 3.2/4.0 or above. He/she will also need to demonstrate his/her English proficiency by TOEFL-internet (>= 80), TOEFL-paper (>= 550), Duolingo (>= 105), or IELTS (>= 6.0 and all sub-scores >= 5.5).
