Well, first of all, wood for cooking fires was in short supply, and because of the extreme climate, food had to be prepared inside, indoors most of the year.
首先，烧火的木头供应不足，而且由于这种极端气候，食物必须在里面处理，一年中大部分时间都必须在室内做饭。
Therefore, fires had to be small, and cooking methods had to be efficient.
因此，火一定要小，烹煮的方法一定要高效。
So in regions of the Arctic where wood was scarce, and where the houses could not withstand large fires and did not have good ventilation,
所以在北极地区这样木头稀缺，房子经受不住大火，而且通风不好的地方，
we do find advantages associated with ceramic pots.
