美国Lehigh大学(Lehigh University)电子与计算机工程系招收半导体(Semiconductor and Nanoelectronics)和光电子(Optoelectronics)方向,全奖博士研究生。入学时间为2023年秋季

Lehigh大学电子与计算机工程系,李宁教授课题组招收全奖博士。课题组专注于半导体和光电子器件相关的研究, 包括:
1) 新型存储器及其在存算一体和类脑计算中的应用,
2) 基于宽带半导体如GaN的大功率高频器件
3) 用于光互联,光通信,和其他数字和模拟光链接的光电器件,
4) 基于III-V, III-N和有机材料的LED和光电探测器。

李宁教授,于清华大学电子工程系获得学士与硕士学位,德州大学奥斯汀分校获得博士学位。加入Lehigh大学之前,曾在纽约州IBM T. J. Watson研究中心从事多年半导体和光电子学研究工作。研究成果发表于Nature Photonics, Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, Advanced Electronic Materials, APL Machine Learning 等知名期刊,以及IEDM, VLSI, OFC等国际权威会议。其工作曾被 Nature Research Highlight、Semiconductor Today、Nanowerk 最受欢迎文章、日经新闻等媒体报道。获得美国专利200余项。多次获得 IBM 高价值专利奖、IBM 发明成就奖、和发明大师奖。

Position Description

Multiple full-scholarship Ph.D. positions are available in Semiconductor and Photonics Research at Lehigh University, with a start date in Fall 2023. The Ph.D. students will work with Prof. Ning Li in the ECE department at Lehigh University.

Prof. Li obtained his B.S. and M.S. from Tsinghua University and his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. Before joining Lehigh, he was a Research Staff Member at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center, Yorktown Heights, NY, where he published in major scientific journals and conferences including Nature Photonics, Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, VLSI, IEDM, OFC, etc. His work was featured on Nature Research Highlight, Semiconductor Today, Nanowerk most popular spotlight article, Nikkei BP, etc.  He was awarded more than 200 US patents, many IBM High Value Patent Awards, IBM Invention Achievement Awards, and Master Inventor Awards.

The group's current research mainly focuses on
1) Emerging memory devices for neuromorphic computing and in-memory computing,
2) High power high frequency device based on wide bandgap materials including GaN,
3) Photonic devices for optical interconnect and other digital and analog optical links,
4) Light emitting diodes and photodetectors using III-V, III-Nitride and organic materials.

Qualifications:
A BS degree or MS degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Material Science, Physics or a related field; Strong motivation and interest in experimental research with theoretical analysis; Prior strong research experience is preferred but not required.
