香港城市大学纳米光子学研究组招收博士生两名
We have PhD openings for candidates with exceptional academic background and strong self-motivation in research. Preference will be given to applicants with a Bachelor degree in Physics or Optics obtained from either UCAS, a C9 League or Double First Class university. Information about our research can be found here, http://personal.cityu.edu.hk/dangylei/index.html. Interested candidates please contact Dr. Dangyuan Lei, dangylei@cityu.edu.hk.
We are devoted to the research on plasmonics and nano-photonics of low-dimensional materials and structures that explores plasmon-enhanced light-matter interaction at the nanoscale. Recently, we are particularly interested in the extreme and quantum plasmonics research that studies the far- and near-field optical properties of metallic nanocavities possessing characteristic sizes less than one nanometer. By combining sophisticated experimental measurements and theoretical analysis at the single-particle level, we have shed light on several important quantum mechanical size effects in such extreme nanocavities, including spatial nonlocality, electron tunneling, and quantum charge transport. In addition, we also devote our research attention to the fundamental physics of exciton/plasmon/phonon polaritons in various two-dimensional materials systems and their rich electromagnetic coupling phenomena. These fundamental studies have important implications for relevant applications in improved light harvesting, advanced biosensing and bioimaging.
