The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking a prospective doctoral student to study in the area of environmental engineering and environmental biotechnology.  The student will conduct research in recovering resources, such as nutrients and energy, from livestock wastes.  Graduate research and teaching assistantships are available for the position.  The student selected for the position is expected to start in Fall 2020.  Applicants should have a degree in environmental engineering, environmental microbiology, or related fields; strong academic records; excellent English communication skills; and high self-motivations.  Experiences with bioreactors and molecular biology techniques (e.g., culture-based methods, quantitative PCR, and metagenomics) are desirable, but not required.  Qualified applicants are encouraged to contact Dr. Xu Li (xuli@unl.edu) with their C.V. and submit their applications online (https://www.unl.edu/gradstudies/ ... ilEngineering#apply).
