PhD Opportunities in Hydraulic Engineering
The Center for Natural Resources (CNR) at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) has funding (tuition+stipend) to support multiple Research Assistant positions in the area of hydraulic engineering starting in September 2020. The students would work on projects of coastal flooding and river hydrodynamics, and would matriculate in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at NJIT, http://civil.njit.edu/academics/graduate/phd-env.php, which is housed in the College of Engineering, ranked in the top 100 engineering colleges in the US by the 2017 US News and World Report. The CEE Department was ranked second in the USA in the College Factual report.
The ideal candidates would have strong understanding of the fundamentals of fluid mechanics, and superior capability for mathematical and numerical modeling. The position is offered on the Main Campus of NJIT in Newark, New Jersey, 20 minutes from downtown New York City.
