Prof. Wilson Lu, Chair Professor and Head, from HKU Faculty of Architecture is offering several full-time Research Assistant/PhD positions in generative design and graph machine learning. The position will be embedded in the Research Grants Council Collaborative Research Fund (CRF) project: Generative DfX in high-rise modular buildings based in iLab.
(1) RA/PhD position(s) in Generative design for modular building prototype
We are looking for candidates with:
- a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Architecture, Urban design, Landscape architecture, etc.;
- interest in Modular integrated Construction (MiC) design scenarios;
- skills in parametric design software (Grasshopper, Unity, etc.);
- experience in computer programming (Python, R, C, etc.);
- proficiency in English;
- knowledge of AI, machine learning, optimisation, and construction drawings is an advantage.
(2) RA/PhD position(s) in Graph machine learning for MiC 3D topology and layout plan
We are looking for candidates with:
- a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Architecture, Computer science, etc.;
- interest in MiC design scenarios and data-driven generative design paradigm;
- knowledge of updated graph machine learning algorithms;
- skils in computer programming (Python, R, C, Java, etc.);
- proficiency in English;
(3) RA/PhD position(s) in Generative design for robotic manufacturing and assembly
We are looking for candidates with:
- a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Architecture, Robotics, Computer science, Mechatronics, Construction management, etc.;
- interest in architectural robotics, human-computer interaction, VR/AR;
- skills in computer programming (C++, , html, etc.) and machine learning;
- experience in web and/or robot development (ROS, SolidWorks, Nvidia, stm23, etc.);
- proficiency in English;
- knowledge of parametric design is an advantage.
