about the positionsa phd scholarship is available in the department of civil and environmental engineering at imperial college london. candidates on csc exchange program are also welcome. candidates who has research experiences in any of the following areas are encouraged to apply:
(1) cement chemistry.relevant research experiences include geopolymer, supplementary cementitious material, pozzolanic reactivity, hydration characterization.
(2) polymer synthesis.relevant research experiences include polymerization, nano modification, crystallinity control, gas permeation.
(3) reactive molecular dynamics simulation of polymer composites.
the research will be carried out within the material section in the department and the access to the facilities across the imperial college will be made available when necessary.
candidates from china should have an average ielts score no less than 6.5 and (listening, speaking, reading and writing no less than 6), and a gpa no less than 85% or 3.5/4 minimum for both ug and msc studies. those with research experiences and publications in the above mentioned areas are strongly encouraged to apply. the other requirements include but not limited to the ability to communicate effectively via presentations and written publications, well organized and ability to work independently, ability to learn new skills and build relationships with new people in an effective manner.
