ning li教授,于清华大学电子工程系获得学士与硕士学位,德州大学奥斯汀分校获得博士学位,曾在纽约州IBM T. J. Watson研究中心长期从事半导体和光电子学研究工作。研究成果发表于Nature Photonics, Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, Advanced Electronic Materials, APL Machine Learning 等知名期刊,以及IEDM, VLSI, OFC等国际会议。其工作曾被 Nature Research Highlight、Semiconductor Today、日经新闻等媒体报道。获得美国专利200余项。多次获得 IBM 高价值专利奖、 发明成就奖、和发明大师奖。宾夕法尼亚州立大学 (Penn State University) University Park 校区坐落于宾夕法尼亚州Happy Valley, 是一所大型研究型大学,理工科科研资源丰富,其中材料科学与工程专业全美排名前十。

position description
Multiple full-scholarship Ph.D. positions are available in semiconductor and photonics research at Penn State University, with a start date in Fall 2024. The ph.d. students will work with Prof. Ning Li in the department of Electrical Engineering (ee) and Materials Research Institute (mri) at Penn State University.
The group's recent research focuses on the electronic and optoelectronic devices in the next generation ai computing and communication systems, including but not limited to:
1) Emerging memory devices for neuromorphic computing and in-memory computing,
2) Eectronic photonic devices for interconnect and communications,
3) Heterogenous integration for chips and materials,
4) Ultrawide bandgap materials and 2D materials.
Prof. Ning Li received his B.S. and M.S. from Tsinghua University and his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. He was a research staff member at IBM T. J. Watson research center, Yorktown Heights, NY. He published in major scientific journals and conferences including Nature Photonics, Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, VLSI, IEDM, OFC, etc. His work was featured on Nature Research Highlight, Semiconductor Today, Nikkei Business Publications, etc.He was awarded more than 200 US patents, many IBM High Value Patent awards, IBM Invention Achievement awards, and Master Inventor awards. Penn State University, University Park, located in Happy Valley, Pennsylvania, is a large research university, with a strong engineering program, among which the material science and engineering program ranks top 10 in the us.
